Location Estimation Scheme with Improved Accuracy

Abstract

Advancement in Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology has enabled the proliferation of Wireless Sensor Networks. Wireless Sensor Networks are widely been used in many tracking and monitoring scenarios such as disaster relief, vehicle tracking, Environmental and Health Monitoring. To make Wireless Sensor networks fulfill the criteria for these scenarios, it is very necessary to determine the location of nodes which involves collaboration between sensor nodes. The process of determining the physical location of nodes is called “Localization”. The Proposed work addresses the problem of location discovery of the nodes in wireless sensor network. Alocalization technique has been proposed by means of which a sensor node can determine its location with enhanced accuracy. The scheme has employed RSSI technique that does not add complexity to the construction of system and positions are estimated with MDSbased mapping method to obtain best results
